FAKE BEAUTY: RETOUCHING IN PHOTOSHOP

Almost all photos selling something have been touched up: magazine covers, fashion articles, advertisements, record covers and so on. The media is becoming increasingly based on appearances.
Photos of celebrities and models are retouched so it appears that this person has no flaws ar imperfections. "One hundred per cent of fashion photos are retouched" says Brad Adams, a fashion photographer form NYC.
This contributes to our distorted sense of beauty, as those images that some people try to imitate are not real or have been distorted.
The number of tricks to achieve the beauty ideals is growing. Many models have plastic surgery and even more are retouched so they appeared to have bigger breasts, smaller stomachs or fuller lips. It's fake beauty.

Don´t forget that most of the photos are based on a lie.

But sometimes things can go beyond perfection. Watch this video and you´ll find  photoshop fails.

Be critical and do not compare yourself to someone who has gone through twenty hours of retouching.

Your turn: Prepare an oral presentation about retouching. Choose a video from YouTube "Before and after photoshop"and compare the photos.
